Asrock z390 phantom gaming 4 and i5-9600k freezing

Barbmyguyy

Specs:

i5 9600k

Asrock z390 phantom gaming 4

corsair vengeance lpx 16gb (8x2)

xfx vega 56 8gb

kingston a400 120g

Cooler master G650M  psu

Windows 10 64-bit

bios version- P1.10

Problem:

Everything’s brand new bought and assembled today, when I go to install an OS (I tried copies of Windows 10, Windows 7 and Ubuntu) it freezes and does nothing except spin fans. It’s fine in the bios but once you do anything outside of this it happens no matter what.

Ive tried switching the ram slots from a1-b1 to a2-b2 and trying running only one stick at a time,  switching graphics card to a 7970, making sure everything’s seated and three different drives.

I’m out of ideas and Asrock support is on  holiday hours so I’m outta luck.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Barb.

Yes, I tested with a 400w evga psu and nothing changed.

Then I tried using just the onboard graphics. No difference.

I’d try other ram but I don’t have any :/

motherboard maybe. can you use hwinfo to check voltages and afterburner to check temps while gaming or intense use of gpu and cpu, aida64 has stress test of the component independently, just try stress components one by one to find the dirty one.

also upgrade bios or reflash exixting one.

,my 2 cents.
