Looking for leads on getting a custom full cover gpu waterblock made?

NubCak

Hi guys,

So i bought a special variant of a 5700XT and I wasn't able to find any water cooling company that made a waterblock for it.

I've checked ek, corsair, alphacool etc.

Anyone know any company or person that would make a custom full coverage block?

I can provide the measurements if necessary.

Thanks in advance!

Sell the card and buy a reference version that already has a waterblock in production.

There is no chance that someone can make a custom waterblock for cheaper than it would be to take the hit of doing ^

Check AliExpress since you can sometimes find a Barrow/Byski block for it.

Ok I had a look and can’t find block specially made for this card, but I’ve read some reviews and looks like they didn’t change pcb layout on this card so in theory it should work with current waterblocks available in the market.

I read over the gamers nexus article, they said there is nothing special with the PCB, but the way it's phrased, i don't think that means that the layout is identical to the reference card, as i checked the reference card pcb and there is a huge blanked space for where the blower fan goes. Looking at the gigabyte card in my case, i see componentry there.

EDIT:

just found the buildzoid tear down:

Looks definitely different compared to reference.

That's a lot bigger VRM section on the gigabyte card, which kills full cover compatibility.  But as GN says:

Quote

If you start pushing chilled cooling or LN2, sure, the VRM will matter, but silicon quality is paramount to overclocking performance, and so it is largely inconsequential to the review.

yeah, im not really looking to water cool for heavy overclocking, more so for a mild overclock and aesthetics and also keeping the damn thing quiet.

I have a +25% powerlimit on it, oc'ed to 2143mhz on gpu clock, memory to 1900 mhz.

The GPU under full load in games is hitting 83 degree, and the VRM is hitting 92, and the gddr6 vram temp is hitting 98.

A little too hot for my liking and its also putting out a lot of ambient heat up towards my Corsair MP600 nvme, which is situated right above the graphics card.

I could actually push this GPU harder if i could keep the temps in check, i ran +50% power limit to see how far i can push it, and it could do 2198mhz on the core, but once the runs get longer, the vrms hit 99 degrees and the vram hits 101, the gpu hits 97 degrees. I know AMD says 110 is safe, but really its spitting out way too much heat into the case.

To make things worse, its also dumping some of that heat into where my x570 board's chipset fan is.

Currently i've ramped up the exhaust fan at the back and ramped up the 3 exhaust fans in the front to increase airflow, its helped a bit, lowering all the temps by a few degrees, but it's not ideal.

Water cooling the GPU would really help to remove the ambient heat issue i have as well as allow me to venture into powerplaytable mods.

I've seen some overclocks have successfully pushed the Liquid Devil 5700 xt to 2.4ghz with power play table mods and it's right up there with RTX2080 performance and within reach of 2080ti, at the expense of well tremendously higher power consumption.

@NubCak If you really want that waterblock maybe try contacting directly one of the company making waterblocks and ask if they have any or if they planning to release it. You have quite few of them Watercool, Aquacomputer, Koolance, EK, HWlabs, Barrow, Alphacool.

Try and trade it for another 5700xt that does have Water-cooling support.

Unfortunately then the only solution your gonna find is a multi fit GPU block or gamers nexus style solution, or something like a kraken GPU mount for a CLC.

Sorry to dig up a 3 month old thread but I'm in the same position as the OP and I've noticed something.

Bykski make a full cover block for the 5700XT Pulse from Sapphire, and looking closely at the PCB design of the Pulse and the Gaming OC from Gigabyte, wouldn't you say they are pretty much identical? At least where it matters for a block?

Sorry to dig up a 3 month old thread but I'm in the same position as the OP and I've noticed something.

Bykski make a full cover block for the 5700XT Pulse from Sapphire, and looking closely at the PCB design of the Pulse and the Gaming OC from Gigabyte, wouldn't you say they are pretty much identical? At least where it matters for a block?

Its totally cool to dig up this thread.Doesn't look like it wiill work, due to where the mounting screws are. I've circled the 3 mounting screws that look the most problematic, as they don't exist on the gaming oc.
