The right power supply for the job.

kodiak211

I am a noob to building.

Current configuration I'm planing.

-AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor

-Stock AMD air cooler included with CPU

-Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard

-G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory

-Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive < could change to save money

-NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB Video Card

-Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic ATX Full Tower Case

Current estimated wattage is 389W

I was looking at the Corsair RMx (2018). 650 W, 80+ Gold, Fully Modular, ATX.

I tried doing some research to figure this out. But doing the math, just turns my brain off. From my basic understanding, you want some room to play, but not to much room.

My question, what wattage should I go with. I'm not overclocking, with normal day to day use while running as a Plex server.

You could go with the 550W version of the RMx :) You might want to go with another board though. X570 Elite should do the trick.

Ryzen Masters will be here soon to tell you which you want!
