Choose the lowest CAS at the highest MHZ in the color you want the most with the price you feel most comfortable with.

Corsiar's Ram is nice but it is starting to get a bit more than others so go with the one that is the cheapest and that is by a reputable brand

If you're using an APU, get the fastest memory you can. Otherwise just get the cheapest 1600mhz memory with the lowest latency from a reputable brand.

Reputable brands don't matter when it comes to RAM. RAM is RAM

4770k and 780ti acx and I'd like to overclock both.

The first one is the best since it has low CL and the highest clock speed.

But which comes first in order of importance?  MHZ or CAS?

They work together and balance each other out.

4770k and 780ti acx

In that case, it doesn't really make a difference what ram you get.

They go hand in hand. If you step down in CAS the MHZ will need to be higher to get the same performance.

So, CAS 9 1600mhz will be about as fast as CAS 11 2133mhz. That's a really rough example but the idea is similar.

just go with whatever looks best or whichever is priced right for you. just go for your average 1600mhz ram as speed does not noticeably increase performance unless you are using an apu

Cheapest and a CAS latency no higher than 10 maybe 11.

Keep in mind the advertised speed is the speed the RAM is guaranteed to run at. If you for example had 1600Mhz RAM and wanted to overclock it to a higher speed you would have to increase the CAS timings but the overclocking potential is not guaranteed. Compare that to the kit i linked you it is guaranteed to run at that speed and if you wanted better timings you could just lower the speed.

Keep in mind if you for example had 1600Mhz RAM and wanted to overclock it to a much higher speed you would have to increase the CAS timings. So before choosing a lower speed memory kit with better timings keep in mind you can just lower the speed a bit to get better timings.

Hmm, not sure if those will fit with the huge CPU cooler in there. If they did, I could just lower the speed a bit on those to tighten the latency right?

But why would you? Clocking ram or lowering the latencies is just annoying.. Most of the time you're going to have to bump the dram voltage and memory is sensitive really. Had a few degrading like hell in a short time requiring more volts or just not doing the clocks/timings anymore.

I really don't understand that choice, Especially considering it's $20 more. I don't think he was saying "why would you BECAUSE it's annoying" but rather there is no point AND it's annoying.
