What GPU should I buy?

Looking to get a GPU that can output 1440p gameplay for most games at high to ultra settings at, at least 100fps id say preferably 144hz to my monitors max. Is my only option a RTX 2080TI? Should I wait for any upcoming new releases or anything. 

 

Any info is greatly appreciated.

 

My Specs:

i5-8600k

GTX 1070

16gb ddr4 2800mhz

EVGA 550W PSU

Your 1070 should be just fine running medium/high settings, won't look much worse than high/ultra, mostly just turn down shadows and AA to get your fps up.

Wait for the RX 5800 XT and 30 series.

 

The 2080ti is a rip off.

 

Your CPU is also a bottleneck for 144hz gaming in general, probably wait for Ryzen 4000 on that end though.

 

*thought that was a 4 core i5, the 6 core i5 should be a bit better off for a long while.

They're supposed to be a fair bit better, but that's all just rumor and anything like that is best to be ignored; wait for actual benchmarks.

They'll obviously be better than what's currently out, and since they're due to be released in the summer, it's just foolish to buy a halo product now.

Yeah i didn't think my CPU was an issue its not really ever being maxed out besides like on stupid games like odyssey i get really bad fps on that game if i got to very low settings or ultra, also disappointing how bad my PC runs borderlands 3 but i think that's just a optimization problem with the games.
