What's that build for by the way ? If it's just for gaming then you can go with R7 3700X with still a plenty of 'future proofing' (it's pointless) and some less giant and ugly cooler like Scythe Fuma 2.

I see, maybe an AIO is the way to go then ? Look for Eisbaer 280\360mm AIO, they seem to be pretty cheap in EU.

Well, I honestly tried to avoid using an AIO or any liquid based cooling. They seem to sometimes suffer leaks and erosion which I honestly don't want to deal with. Also the d15 is keeping up pretty well performance wise.

This Israeli store sells the BeQuiet cooler if it is any use to you.

It offers very similar performance to the D15.

First of all, Thank you so much for helping out, I really appreciate it!

Second, I checked the specs and the biggest difference for me between the two is the 3 vs 6 year warranty in favor of noctua in exchange for aesthetics.
As much as I dislike the brownish tan color scheme of noctua I just get the sense that they've got a better quality.

Not much can go wrong with an air cooler though. If the fan breaks after 3 years then just buy a new one ?

I have been using a BeQuiet Dark Rock 2 since 2012. Still going strong.

You both gave me some solid advice regarding the ssd and I just wanted to thank you for your heads up.
I'd really appreciate if you could recommend a couple of ssds I should check out.

Thanks again :)

What’s your max budget for ssd?

Around 100 USD maybe a bit more if it's a good deal.

I’ve used this one: https://www.newegg.com/patriot-vpn100-1tb/p/N82E16820225155?Description=Patriot vpn100&cm_re=Patriot_vpn100-_-20-225-155-_-Product

it uses tlc nand, and it’s probably one of the fastest on the market. Plus it has its own heatsink, making it easier to install.

Without knowing prices then an Adata SX8200 Pro or Corsair MP510 etc if you want an NVMe SSD.

Noted! Thanks!!

For the really reputable stuff with the brands you have available, the prices go above $150.

https://www.newegg.com/crucial-p1-1tb/p/N82E16820156199?Description=1tb nvme&cm_re=1tb_nvme-_-20-156-199-_-Product

this crucial one is the best nvme I could find at $130, and even its slower compared to all the other nvme drives.
That said I’m only really advising against qlc nand. Maybe a sata ssd would be closer to thr price you’re looking for. A sata ssd may not be as fast, but relatively few applications benefit from the nvme speeds.

I just ran a 32mb benchmark on my near 70% full 660p and as you can see it is much faster than a hard drive.

32MB lol ? Most consumer HDDs have 64-256MB buffer now, they will hit SATA interface speeds on 32MB benchmark too.

And if you're moving files they would be hardly the size of 32MB, look my benchmark above, it hits 100 MB\s write speed after ~7GB written on 80% full 1TB drive. Considering that both Intel 660p and smth like Inland Premium \ Sabrent Rocket \ Team MP34 or even ADATA SX8200 Pro on some markets cost the same, there are really no point in buying QLC SSDs now, they should be either costing twice less or have twice larger capacity, until now they're just milking consumers who don't know shit about SSDs thinking that if it's Intel then it's inherently good, like me and you.

Without seeing what's available to you that list gonna be looong. I'd rather say what not to buy : Intel 66*p, Crucial P1, ADATA SX6000(-Lite), ADATA SX8200, Lexar NM**0, HP EX900, Mushkin Helix, Kingston A1000, Team MP32, almost everything else you would find will be decent.

First off its several 32mb reads not just a single one. Second I wasn't claiming that this was the best SSD on the market. In fact I noted that there were better drives at a similar price. I was responding to a person claiming that the 660p would be slower than a Hard Drive the second it was over 50% full. I was showing that my drive that is over that size still has fast every day read and writes. I also noted that it slows down in larger file writes.

If you want to disagree with my points please take the time to read and understand what I'm actually saying rather than what you wish I was.

It depends on the size of data you're writing, almost full Intel 660p will write about 4GB until it'll slow down to 100 MB\s, i think that pretty much qualifies as "slower than HDD speeds", which was the point of poster you were answering to.

So what do you guys say about the corsair mp510?

It's one of the best SSDs in the market, beating Samsung 970 Evo in all metrics and even competing with 970 Pro in some.

The amd official website says that the max speed for the 3900x is 3200 wouldn't it cause a bottleneck?

No, Zen 2 CPUs run 3600MHz memory easily.

it's definitely supported and 3600 c16 is the sweet spot
