2070 Super with best thermals that will fit in a Fractal Node 202?

Kalm_Traveler

Toying around with the idea of upgrading my HTPC from an MSI Geforce GTX 1070 Gaming X to a 2070 Super because the 1070 is struggling a bit now that it's driving a 4k TV instead of the old 1080p TV.

Since we all know that the founders style cards run hotter than some AIB designs, I'd want to put a better/cooler version in there but I haven't found any sort of comparison chart between models to see A) which would run coolest, and B) fit in the Node 202. Right now I have two Noctua NF-F12x25 fans below the card, so I think some space could be reclaimed for a thicker card if need be.

What do you guys think?

Don't even think for 3 fan GPU, all others with 2 fans should fit.

I would go for Asus and MSI

@boggy77 Your list is a bit inaccurate, in a few cards, an example, the Asus 2070 Dual is a kick ass card and it doesn't belong to Tier D!!!!!

Tier B/C at least.

It's not my list, it's the official list on this forum, made by @GoldenLag and based on testing, reviews etc

Please provide reviews to back up your claim.

PCB and cooler is counted for in these lists.

@boggy77 and @GoldenLag

I take it that list is a generic list for all RTX cards, since AFAIk there is no Kingpin or Galax HOF version of a 2070 S, correct?

also, given the mentioned stipulation that it must fit in the Node 202 that would cut out any hybrid models, so I take it that boggy meant to cut and paste only the 'Tier B' and maybe 'Tier C' product lines?

Also - do all of those versions even exist as a 2070 Super, or are they only examples of some product lines that exist within the RTX product stack?

I'm just trying to get an idea of maybe 2-3 that will fit in the Node 202 and run as cool as possible given the space limitation, not looking for a broad overview of all RTX cards that exist.

More or less yes. Some RTX cards use the same die and card, but cut-down.

More or less.

I suggest sorting by lowest price, and then going up untill you find a card that fits. Then checking the tier.

Keep in mind it will never be among the best cards

So basically get a really cheap card and slap an AIO on it!?

Seems reasonable,  it's what I'd do too!

Can't fit that in the Node 202 or I would. The MSI GTX 1070 in there is about as big as it has room for, though I think if the case fans below it are removed it could hold a thicker card.
