ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1070 Gaming 8G 3y after release,worth buying?

Hey guys,just want to ask you about your opinion of buying this card now,3 years after release.

I know the specs,I know it's old GPU,but still powerful.

How smart is to get one for 220 euros,used ofc to pair with either 2560x1080 monitor or 1440p?

I'll stick to recent games,older titles too,and gaming at high/ultra,with around 60 fps is all I need.

Does this card boost over 2GHz?

I asked a cousin of mine who has this model and he told me he plays Metro Exodus at Ultra at 80 fps at 1080p,but I don't trust him because I know how demanding that game is.

its decent price, ask him to drop it at 200 for lying the metro exodus thing. My rx 5700 XT runs it at 85 fps on ultra and mine is at 2080 level of performance.

Decent for 1440p. But with that gpu 1080p 144hz would be the bets for you.

From what I saw yesterday,the one closest to performance is 1660 super,which is 50 euros more expensive but damn new,so I dunno how smart is to buy used gtx 1070 strix.

I know he was lying,because no way of that 80 fps.

Decent for 1440p. But with that gpu 1080p 144hz would be the bets for you.

On asus site max boost is 1860.

Strix is pretty good brand with rgb and good cooling. And 1070 is pretty good still

I think it's worth max 200 euros,he won't drop the price,then watching this card it struggles a lot at 1440p,don't know really,but then again for 220 euros you can't get anything near as powerful new ofc:

@frozensun 220 euros is usually slightly more than I'd pay for the 1070 but a strix 1070 is pretty nice

Don't know my friend,don't think I'll go for it,this is barely playable,at around 40 fps,and then consider games to come,that card could stick at maybe 40-50 fps in games to come,I mean it's playable,I played games at 20 fps 10 years ago,but I don't think this card is good choice for games to come even at 1080p becase it struggles in Metro.

at 5:30 struggles at only 40 fps,just like my R9 390 on high details,so I don't think I'll buy it,too old GPU...

I have no idea what model 1070 it was, what model power supply was being used, what the thermal conditions were, the clock speeds can't be taken as an accurate reference.

 

Also since it didn't have anyone holding up the physical product and introing it then it could just be "simulated" performance and the user didn't actually have a 1070
