PSU upgrade/swap

I know my current psu is a bit crappie ( evga 500w1 ) so its time to swap it for something slightly better. My current system is i5-3570k @ 4.5Ghz ( I can push it even more cos my temps are really good and barely touched voltage but atm I’m not doing it until I get better psu) Asus Strix GTX 970, now my question, is 500W enough? If yes I was thinking about Be quiet System Power 9 500 or EVGA GD 500 if that’s not enough than maybe Corsair CX550 or Cooler Master MWE Bronze 550W V2.

500w is plenty.

No, it has some problems accordint to some volcs, you should get corsair cx 550. Its decent 80+bronze psu.

 

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

its okay, but see the PSU tier list 4.0 and make sure its on rank B or better. Its found on forums--> Cases and Power supplies---> the top one

Sweet I’ll get that one (will have to wait till new year anyway cos I’m broke atm, spend way too much on xmas presents for kids ?)

Ok it’s not the worst one you can get I have too admit, there is some really “scary” psu’s on the market which you can get even cheaper, but imo it’s not the best and I care about my components in pc, don’t want anything to go wrong and lose much more money. Better to invest a bit more now

You can get the Pure Power 11 400W for £50 or the Formula Gold 450W for £60. The CPU power consumption doesn't really affect the total power consumption significantly during gaming. The 970 is a 145W card iirc, so expect the system to use about 220W during gaming.
