Folding phones are the direction most high end flagships are going to be going, so I'm curious, what would it take for you to buy one?
Personally, they'd have to incorporate glass (coming next year), not lose out substantially on battery life, and actually have added usability.

I'm not super worried about cost, I fully expect them to remain in the $1,200+ price bracket for a few years at least.

My ideal folding phone would be about the size of a Note, but folds out into something significantly larger, and keeps the stylus.

Glass is absolutely a must have for me too, for the feel, durability (i rarely crack my screens but often scratch them, so plastic would be a nightmare) and the look of it. For me battery life is less of an issue, I feel like current gen folding phones have decent enough batteries as it is, because when I would be in a situation to use the ''big'' screen It would be to watch content for a little while, and that's most often near a wallplug! The fold also would have to really fold flat (or very near flat) like on the nokia phone because of esthetics and stuff would definitely get between the screens in my pockets and scratch the screen to hell. I rarely have just my phone in my pocket!

Oh and i'm definitely not getting one before they drop below 1000$ ! I don't see how a bigger screen justifies that much more money.

Yeah it's the scratches for me as well. Plus I'd imagine I'd absolutely hate the feel. I hate the feel of screens that use lower quality oleophobic coating enough as is...

Haha, see if I was watching content like that on a phone, I wouldn't be near a plug....otherwise I'd be using my PC (or soon-to-be-acquired Surfacebook).

No folding phone for me right now. Too much energy to open up the phone. Very fragile. Bulky. Expensive because this technology and trend are new atm.

These new flip phones do not impress me. All they did is take a flip phone from the late 90s and added RGB. Watch the marketing. My bet is they will call them "gaming" phones.

Nothing that isn't already necessary for me to buy a normal phone.  Specifically, the two biggest areas where folding phones currently fail (though for perfectly good and understandable reasons) are price and screen durability.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

If google maps, emails and pandora weren't such a big deal breaker, I'd go back to the old flip phones.

Instructions for frustration management:

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.
