My case has always made a buzzing noise but when I upgraded It is still there. I went from some OEM case to the Corsair 540 Air. When it starts buzzing if I touch make case and put pressure in different places or tighten or loosen the screws the buzzing goes away and than comes back again. I think it could be my H80 as it also makes a grinding noise but if I put my case on it's side the grinding noise will go away on the H80. The buzzing noise though is far more annoying, does anyone know what it is or what it could be. I am quite sure that it isn't coil whine.

This happens on my define r4 sometimes. I just push on the front and it goes away. Not really sure what causes it cause all my fans have rubber mounts and everything that moves has some kind of dampening but when I push firmly on the front it goes away fro like a month then comes back. Not really sure what to do in your case lol sorry.

Hapened on my Define R4 and went away whenever i pushed in the back, where my Corsair AF 140 mm sat.

@OP: But it was i think it is the noise that you're experiencing. I think i once found out what it was, but i forgot it. It's probably the HDD, maybe one of your fans. I haven't had the problem since i replaced my Af 140 with a bequiet SW 2 (rubber isolation).

who cares...

Open the case, touch fans and hdd, vibrations go away if you touch the thing that is causing them.

I am upgrading to an SSD at some point anyway so I will just deal with it for the time being. Hopefully upgrading to the Crucial 480GB M500. It's £201 at the this time which is really good. I think thats $240.

If you look at the US Amazon it says $259 for the 480 GB which was the one I was talking about. Looks like Amazon can't do mathematics.  :D

Yea but don't they have any tax on their goods. Because I would really love it if VAT went and f*cked itself. It is damaging to the economy. There have been many a times when I wanted to buy something and realized I couldn't because VAT is extortionate. What is the point of having a strong currency when a country with weaker currency gets goods for cheaper.

No health insurance, no VAT, choose your poison.

Goods will always go cheaper somewhere else......Having the cheapest goods isn't the goal. Having the largest salaries is.

Back to the topic lol, I had this in my old rig and I just used rubber washers b/w the mounting screws, it helped me but if it's because of the hdd making contact with the case in a different spot then I would go with lifehacks solution.

The HDD doesn't make any contract in the 540 Air. It's on rails and sits at the bottom of the case. I think the HDD is probably dying. I have some money left over for such situations so I will probably be buying a Crucial M500 soon.
