What do you all think about this 9900k overclock?

I run my cpu at 5.1 GHZ 24 / 7 at 1.33 volts but this is the best I've ever done on just water. Let me know what you all think. Also, no avx offset.Screenshot_20191211-080727_Chrome.thumb.jpg.28672b37c8de75b8c9192581644db5e7.jpg

I can’t really read it.  The pic doesn’t have much resolution.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

It is very good.

I do in the 29s on air with a 6 core. It is also at 5.1ghz but has the standard avx offset. It uses 1.34v for 5.1ghz.

I can go higher in synthetic benches on the GPU side but my overclock is designed not to freeze some games I have in my library.

I have overclock the i7 8086k and the i9 9900k and they are the most stable chips I have ever used. My i7 2600k and i7 6700k had crashes in games a lot but with these 5ghz chips the only crashes I get are on the GPU.

At 5.1 ghz 100% for an hour on realbench around a max of 89c. During everyday gaming around 73c.

Got it.  Looks like you’re running right up to silicon theoretical maximums.  I don’t think there’s anything more to be found.  Kind of a golden chip perhaps.

Yeah this 9900k is nuts. Now I'll admit when I ran it at 5.4 ghz it was for one bench. Also had the the ac maxed out to like 50f.

Yeah when I ran that bench i had the ambient temps in my pc room pretty low, set my ac to 50 f, but I'd say it was around 63 f. Only ran one bench because, well I didnt want to burn it up.

My old 3770k I was able to get to 4.8ghz 24/7 stable back in the day. Had to delid it though. I had a 8700k and could only hit 4.8 delided.

That particular one is anyway.  I suspect there are also 9900ks out there that won’t clock much above their listed frequency.  If there weren’t intel would likely have a higher advertised base clock.

Yeah I was looking at getting a 9900ks, but I dont think I'd get any gain from it. If I really wanted I could likely push my 9900k to 5.3 ghz with a 200 mhz offset 24/7 and be fine. But I think that's really not going to help and I dont think a normal 9900ks could do that with just a 360 rad for both the gpu and cpu.

One of these days I think I should but a new car (I drive a 2001 mazda with 200k miles) instead of constantly upgrading and overclocking my pc lol.

An 18 year old car may be approaching last legs.  You may not get a choice.
