Go to solution Solved by VEXICUS,

I'll recommend something like this instead coz prices of tech are pretty high in India. I hv selected parts from Amazon India, but you can find these parts for cheap in your local market...

Hi All,

I need your help validate the PC i am building for Software Development and Casual Gaming. The budget is around ~$600 - $700 USD. Note that I live in india and the parts here tend to be 15-20% higher in price so please consider that as well.

After moderate amount of watching YouTube videos and researching, this is what I have come up with :

Note: I have converted price from INR to USD.

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3500
  • CPU Cooler: Stock CPU Cooler
  • GPU: Gigabyte 1650 SUPER or wait for AMD RX 5500/5500XT
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M Gaming (2 DIMMs)
  • RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200 (C16)
  • Storage: Cruicial P1 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD
  • Case: Corsair Spec Delta
  • PSU: Cooler Master MWE 550. (I already own this)

The complete build is costing me currently ~ $620 USD excluding the PSU. I will be buying the peripherals and I already own one 1080p 60Hz monitor.

  • Keyboard: Gigabyte K83 Mechanical
  • Mouse: Logitech G102 Mouse

All suggestions are welcome.

I personally am not enthusiastic about the long term usefulness of a 6/6 cpu.  I suspect a 6/12 like the 2600 would have a longer term useful life even though it has fewer MHz.

the problem is thread programming.  It’s everywhere.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

Thank you for your response. I am indeed looking for long term usage so I would definitely consider your suggestion of 2600

If you can find them fr cheap, then I'll say go fr it.

Not much performance improvement over the rx580 though.

With those cards you pay $100 for a bit of power efficiency and tiny hedge.  The hedge being that AMD might do something exceptionally evil that they’ve never done before and EOL the 580.  Not just stop making it but refuse to support it.  They haven’t done anything like that before though.  380s still work.  Hell 280s still work.  It’s unlikely.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
