2080 Ti AMP Extreme Core +1200 Mhz Memory OC?

K0NG

a friend of mine bought a zotac 2080 ti amp extreme core (i have the same card since july) for 999€ bucks from amazon.

i bought it for him with my account and i had 2 days for testing the card and overclocking it.

core is the same due to the high factory OC (more than 100mhz than a strix OC model out of the box)
+89mhz (1844 boost in GPU Z)
but memory is insane on this card.

it is factory overclocked to 14400mhz
i was able to give it another 1000 Mhz (16400Mhz in total) without any issues. so a total of "+1200"
up to +1000 the framerate increases, from 1050 to 1150 it decreases and at 1200 it crashes.
timespy extreme stresstest with 40 loops gave a result of 99,7% which is more or less the highest stability rating you can get out of it.
benchmarks are higher with 1000 than with lets say 800. so no error correction which decreases performance.

is that normal in these days? better binning with samsung chips or just luck?

btw. my card does +800  (16000 effective)

Samsung VRAM is better. If you were able to adjust memory voltage you could get even more out of it. Although it overclocks very well without the adjustment. It was the go to choice for high VRAM clocks when GDDR5 was mainstream.

Good to know their GDDR6 is no slouch either.

That is about average for a 2080 ti with decent cooling.

Here is my FTW3 Ultra.

The 2190mhz looks cool but that is only before the GPU hits 64c. For most of the run it is at 2070mhz like yours.

This is common for Samsung chips. I've got Samsung DDR5 on my 1070Ti that does +800MHz offset.
