Is it worth it to play at 1440p res in a 24" monitor?

Rick16

I know 27" is the sweet spot for 1440p monitors, but they are also more expensive. Specially if you are looking for a 95Hz+ refresh rate, IPS display, and 1-5ms response time.

Will i regret it if I buy a 24" monitor instead of a 27" to play at 1440p?

It's all a matter of personal taste. In my opinion it would be a waste of money and pixels to go 1440p at 24". You may even end up needing to upscale your desktop if you go for 1440p at 24". I'd either go for 144hz 1080p at 24" or go the whole way to 144hz 1440p at 27".

You should look at the monitors your considering in person though to see which resolution/size/refresh rate you want to go with, especially if you're dropping big $$$.

I personnally went for a 1440p 144hz 27" monitor and it's amazing ! But if you plan on playing on a 24" i would just keep the extra money and use something like Gsync/Freesync and more Hz, at 24" the difference between 1440 and 1080p is barely noticeable !

I think it kind of kills the point tbh.

Just save up a little longer and get the bigger monitor.

yeah, that's the feel i got when researching it... either 27" for 1440p or 24" for 1080p

I found one in a sale for $270 that i'm tempted to buy: Acer Nitro VG270U Pbmiipx 27" 144Hz Refresh Rat 1ms(VRB) IPS 1440p
