Switching GPU's

Go to solution Solved by minibois,

Download it from Guru3D, run the tool after installing the new card, then install the Radeon drivers.

That's what I did when going from my RX 580 to my 2070S and it worked like a champ ?

Be sure to read the readme in the DDU folder, it specifies you have to use the tool in safemode I believe.

You go into safe mode in Windows 10 by holding shift while pressing the 'restart' button in the Window menu and then going to advanced boot settings

Switching from a 1070 to a 5700XT, and someone said I should run "DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)"

Was wondering if I could get a link for this, and wondering at what point I should run this?

Would be before I take the 1070 out, after I put the 5700XT in, but before I install the new drivers or?

I will complain about high prices in Norway given the oportunity.

Never used it, frankly didn't see the need. YMMV

It's literally the first result if you google "display driver uninstaller"

Most of the time, it's enough to just go in Control panel in the add/remove programs (or whatever is called these days) and uninstall nvidia driver / control panel etc

Then just shut down and replace the card and Windows will detect its no longer a nvidia card installed so it won't load anything nvidia related
