The i3 has more single core (by 10%), the Ryzen has a better GPU (or really, a GPU, while the i3 does not).

What is better really depends on what you do on your PC (and what else is included in the build).

If you're getting a separate GPU, you could look at the Ryzen 2600 too.

Going with a simple CPU I always feel like it's more of a decision on what platform to buy into, to choose what you could upgrade to later.

1151v2 and AM4 have a pretty similar upgrade path.

Ryzen has a much better upgrade path, will this CPU have a quad core forever or will it eventually be upgraded?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

So what I've heard is, for gaming on a minimum budget right now, get a Ryzen 2600 and a used RX 480. With the professional miners unloading their computer machines, 8Gb 580's are on the market for $100, it offers significantly more performance than you're going to get from any APU, and can game reasonably well at 1080p
