CriSis_

Hi all,

I'm in need of purchasing some headphones and have a budget of £80 (no more) with a preferred budget of £60. So far I have found these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B078VGQCZ4/ref=twister_B079K2LLH9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 , Im not in need of wireless or NC but I do want the best sound quality I can get for over ear headphones, all recommendations are welcome!

Thanks in advance,

Lex

If you don't want or need noise cancelling or wireless, then I would advise you to avoid any headphones that offer it.  They are going to charge for that feature of course, and this means you're paying for something you don't need, which is never great, especially when you're on a tight budget and want every dollar to go toward making a meaningful improvement to quality.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

imo, that reddit post sucks. First of all, there are many great headphones that s/he doesn't list that are equally or more viable (chi-fi)

OP: I'd reccommend some IEMs, the KZ ZS10 Pros extremely good for their price. Good noise isolation too if you get foam tips.

The stock cable and tips are kinda meh, so get these too

https://www.amazon.co.uk/SpinFit-CP145-Patented-Silicone-Replacement/dp/B07BPYTS7N/

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Comply-Isolation-Cancelling-Audio-Technical-Replacement-Black/

(Comply's are foam, so they will break over a couple months, but offer more isolation. spinfits should last longer, and sound a little different)

The tips are kinda expensive, so you don't really need to get them. the stock ones are perfectly usable, however, I would reccommend replacing the stock cable as it gets tangled really easily.

for the pricepoint I personally think the BLon blo3's are better I find the zs10 pros a buit too bright and too much about detail that I found them personally not very enjouable

I like my ZS10s, they sound different from my HD 598s (ofc, those are headphones), and I enjoy them. They sound great plugged into my Fulla 2. I guess its up to personal preference. I heard that breaking them in helps, I bought mine second hand, so I didn't do that.

Why do you hate them? It might've been because of a bad fit on the tips or something, like the free ones they give you on the airplane. What IEMs were there?

no not knocking you for liking it I am a bit sensitive to certain frequencies and the zs10 pro has a bit of a 8k spike that is not very enjoyable for me it's like a slightly cheaper t3 and I have the t3 and modded them to sound the way I want. and I can see why people swear by them.

I find that the AKG K92 is pretty darn good for £40. The issue with something like a KZ ZS10 has is that they’re so darn huge for earbuds that they tend to be annoying and uncomfortable to fit and they don’t stay in the ear. The K92 is a decent sounding headphone that’s very comfortable.
