Is it a bad idea to NVLink a 2080SC and a 2080Ti FTW3?

NoOne2You

Hello. Is it a bad idea to try and NVLink a EVGA 2080SC and a 2080Ti FTW3? Could the FTW3 benefit at all having a regular 2080 connected as a support card? I know this is kind of a dumb question but I cannot find any info of anybody trying this. I would just go ahead and try but my mobo only has 1 slot and I would have to upgrade. Or should I just go ahead and try to sell my regular 2080?

My future apologies for not being well informed on these kind of thing.

I think that answers most of this inquiry.

Wont work. Cards only SLI with the same chip. Do you have both cards? id stick with the 2080 unless you already bought the ti

Ok that makes sence now. I did read that the TI has a different chip but I wasn't sure since they are in the same family.

My dumb*** had an impulse buy when I went to Microcenter and I walked out with the FTW3. I wanted a 2080Ti when I was building my pc but I could not find any. I guess I will try and find somewhere to sell it and at least get some money back. Thank you.

EDIT:  Does anyone reccomend somewhere I can sell it? I'm not concerned about getting the most money back. I wanna avoid Ebay or facebook.

You should be able to return it if it was recent. The 2080ti is about 15-20% faster then the 2080 but its 1000-1300$ so its a lot more for so little.

I have had it for almost a year now sadly. I purchase the 2 Year protection plan from Microcenter but I feel like it would be immoral to go there and abuse that system. There's nothing wrong with it and they will test it and see that anyway.

DifferentSLIAuto will allow this to work, but then you will be running it as (theoretically) x2 the slowest card. If you get really lucky, it's more 1.5x.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)
