What Headphones?

Looking to get high quality Closed headphones. I am getting JDSlabs O2 Amp and standalone DAC which cost $278 together. Looking to keep the overall budget under $700. Any suggestions?

Modified Fostex T50RP V3 from MayflowerElectronics will set you back $250ish last I remember, NAD Viso HP50 is $300. Mayflower's V3 is heavier than the NAD, but they're both pretty comfy. Can probably find some other options once others chime in.

If you want a portable option that's a whole other ball game, just let us know.

Well, what I suggested is what I suggest, so unless you actually have questions about them I'll just leave you some links. :)

MayflowerElectronics Modded T50RP V3 (review linked in my signature)

NAD VISO HP50

Perhaps an HE500, HD650, or HD600 is something to consider? I don't know that many headphones in that price range, wait for some other recommendations.

flowerbro can probably point you towards something

OP wants closed bro.

I hadn't seen those NAD headphones before. Very nice indeed.

Wish I hadn't looked at this thread though. I'll probably have to go buy a pair...

Provided I can get rid of the Apple Control cord.

The reviews they're getting are stellar and they sound pretty amazing.

I know I keep recommending these but the Sony MDR-ZX100 headphones seem to be a good choice if you're on a budget, according to @ONOTech, he has a video review of them.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

I definitely liked them quite a bit at the audiophile store. A very comfortable at-home closed headphone that's sounds great.

Have you tried the B&W P7's?

If so, how did they compare?

Nah, the selection at the store was very small.

Hahaha, that is what I'm afraid I'll turn into!

I'm already like that with shoes and jackets...

Starting to get like that with mp3 players

are you looking bass heavy, monitoring style, or well balanced in overall ?

V-Moda Crossfade M100 is highly recommended in my community.
