GTX-1660 OC 6GB + i5-4460?

Hawick

CPU: i5-4460 @ 3.2ghz

Current GPU: GTX-750 TI 2GB

RAM: 32GB DDR 1600Mhz

PSU: CX 430W

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z97X Gaming 7

SSD Boot Drive: Plextor M8PeY 256GB

SSD Storage: Intel 545S 128GB

HDD Storage: WD Blue TB

Cooling: everything stock

Goal: 1440P GTA V / BF4 @ 35 fps (minimum)

First set of questions:

Should I buy GTX-1660 OC 6GB? Should I save up a little more for GTX-1660 TI? Is it worth it?

Should I buy something else? Maybe GTX-1060? Is that better?

Second question:

Is this CX430 watt power supply enough to power a GTX-1660 or 1660TI?

Thanks for reading.

the 1660 super is right on the heels of the 1660 ti in terms of performance, for much less cost.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

It's a 1660 with 14Gbps GDDR6 instead of the 8Gbps GDDR5 on the regular 1660. It makes it just a hair behind the 1660Ti in performance for a $10 higher MSRP than the regular 1660 (and $50 cheaper than 1660Ti).

I’m sure the card will do far better than that cpu will. That’s for sure. I’d imagine your FPS goals will be fine.

Not that it matters since the watts won't get anywhere near 400

They do overrate it a bit but, sometimes it is good to have a little extra for extra stuff.
