I recently decided to upgrade my setup, and was thinking on getting mobo+cpu+ram upgrades.

I was checking local prices and comparing them to amazon prices, and realized amazon prices are much better than my local market.

 

at my local market prices i would be able to get:

ryzen 5 3600

msi bazooka plus

corsair vengeance lpx 8X2 16 cl ram.

 

amazon would get me:

ryzen 5 3600

tomahawk max

corsair vengeance rgb pro

 

the amazon parts are more appealing to me, and they are exactly the same price after tax. 

the only concern i have is regarding the warranty. all components are new and sold and shipped by amazon. 

with local sellers i will obviously have a place to go to if something is not working properly, but i have no idea how it works with amazon.

is the amazon warranty any good? will i run into problems if, say, the parts will go bad after several months? (obviously asking if they go bad on their own)

would love any inputs from anyone that dealt wit amazon service or warranty.. thanks

If you're in the US, retailers don't offer a warranty unless you pay for one. You have a return policy and that's it. Beyond that you deal with the manufacturer.

yea i know, im not im the US though.

where i live retailers do offer warranty, but thats not that issue. 

i was wondering how the amazon warranty will work. say i have a 30 days return window, what happens after those 30 days?

How can we tell you if you're not providing where you live?

Amazon has different policies depending on the region it's operating in.

 

That said, since you're in a country that they don't operate in, you'll need to deal with the manufacturer after the return period. To make things more complicated, some manufacturers may refuse warranty service since you would be out of the intended market.

Amazon must abide by the warranty laws of each country. It is for example 2 years here in Germany while 3rd party sellers also has to offer that warranty.

 

I am honestly suprised that the US does not guarantee a warranty.

So yeah, it matters. Amazon like any company has to comply with the national and local laws of your country. So how does it work with any other retailer in your country?

In my country retailers usually are responsible for any fixes or just regular warranty, i will deliver the item back to the store i got it from, and they will fix it regardless of the manufacturer. As far as i know, no major manufacturer of pc parts actually provides any kinds of services in my country, but i also find it hard to believe that if i order from amazon i will be left for my own after the return period.. Am i mistaken for thinking that?

A return period is diffrent then a warranty. Return means you dont want the item. Most places have period set up and you can return for a refund. A warranty is the product is defective and needs to be repaired. Generally at least on Listings here in the US, a return period is listed and a Warranty period is listeted. In the case of the US, we have at least 1 year of warrany coverage. Return policies are diffrent for each store.

Where do you live? That will depend on how warranty is processed.

 

In the EU, retailers have to provide the manufacturers warranty. In Canada and the US, the manufacturer handles it directly.

 

In terms of Amazon, it would depend on which Amazon site you bought from. Make sure not to buy outside your region, since not every manufacturer offers worldwide warranties. Some are regional only per the SKU/ISBN.

If the item is faulty after the 30 day return window then you would just contact the manufacturer of the part i.e MSI or Corsair etc and request an RMA (Return Merchandise Authority).

In US, Amazon doesn't offer warranty. Only 30 days for exchange/refund. Idk about the rest of the world.

You can rma your defective components by contacting the manufacturer.
