Need help with wiring my GPU

Go to solution Solved by Spotty,

You can use this handy compatibility chart on Corsair's website to see what type of cables are compatible with your power supply.

https://www.corsair.com/ww/en/psu-cable-compatibility

For the Corsair CSM PCIe cables it uses Type 3 Corsair cables, however Type 4 is also compatible. Both Type 3 and Type 4 PCIe cables are available on Corsair's website, as well as third party sites such as Amazon. The SKU for the pigtail (two 6+2pin connectors on the end of one cable) Type 3 connector is CP-8920114. The Type 4 cable is CP-8920143. Should cost about $5 per cable.

You can also find fancy custom coloured sleeved cables, but they will be more expensive around $20+ each.

I am a complete noob so bear with me.

I built a new pc a week ago, and the CPU has a decent igpu, so I decided not to buy a dedicated gpu immediately. The psu I purchased was a second hand corsair CS650M, a modular psu. It only came with the 24pin connector, the CPU power connector and a sata power cable. The gpu I have decided to buy is an MSI GTX 970, which requires 2x 6pin connector. Since I don't have the required cables, where can I purchase replacement 6pin cables for my psu (link please) and which ports would I plug them into since the psu only has 2 empty 6pin peripheral ports and 2 6+2 pin slots left.

I have included a picture of it for reference. Any help is appreciated.

por que.

You mostly want to contact corsair, or maybe cable mods has cables for that unit.

How cheap is the 970? because you can get an RX 470/480/570/580 for $80-120 on ebay and it won't have any potential VRAM issues and be more like a 980.

You defiantly don't want to accidentally mix PSU cables up from other modular PSUs.

The single PCI-e connection from the PSU will come out to 2 8 pin connections

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

try sata to pci-e but i recommend getting a new psu.

I think Molex is higher power, but ya, still not recommended for more power hungry GPUs.
