Thoughts on new build

Go to solution Solved by SupaKomputa,

All good. Although the gpu is quite old.

With windows, normally you can transfer without problems.

But advisable to backup your important files if you ever need to fresh install.

Hi, im thinking on getting new cheap pc build, thoughts on this and there's no incompatibilities right? (Not listing ssd's since i have them already)

New Build

Amd Ryzen 5 2600

Gigabyte B450M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard

Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4-2666

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card

Seasonic 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 3.1, mATX

Old Build

AMD FX-4300

Asus M5A78L-M LX3, AM3+, AMD 760G, DDR3, mATX

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card

8GB RAM DDR3

Seasonic 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 3.1, mATX

Extra question, can i use my ssd's with same windows (Windows 10) on New Build, some ppl say that you can use it but you may need to install / uninstall old drives

Thanks in advance

Depends on how much performance you need.

770 is about 1050 performance, or 30fps in most games.

if you want 60fps you can go RX580 or 1060.

Also do you already have UEFI mode enabled in previous windows?

If not you will need to do fresh install.

Ok, but for the money, 580 is better bang for the buck plus it's 8gb vs 6gb vram.

check your motherboard manual for UEFI mode. If it's enabled then your windows is working in uefi.

If not then you are on LEGACY / Mbr mode.

It doesn't seem to have UEFI, we'll ill still try to use same windows just incase it would work, if it works i will just wipe all drivers etc if it doesn't work ill just install fresh windows

Well you can run it in Legacy mode if you want to. It will run in the new mobo if you enabled legacy.

To use UEFI you will also need a UEFI installer drive which you cannot boot with legacy mode, vice versa.

But moving forward all system will use uefi as default, so why not start fresh now.

Also legacy have 2TB drive limit to add into consideration.

ouch, that gpu tho. def one of the more weaker links. i currently have a rx 570 and its pretty decent for me needs atm. i dont need insane frames at insane settings. been used to extreme fps optimizing for shitty hardware so its a nice change of pace for me.
