5.1 speakers-motherboard

Dimitrispaok88

I have a 5.1 system, and the cables are black, orange and green. But on the new motherboard, and I've noticed pretty much all motherboards, they only have blue, green, and red inputs. Not sure what I should be doing here.

Normally you can configure those ports to be 5.1 instead of mic out. Look in the manual for what color is what output.

i believe green to green (front), orange to blue (rear), and the black to red/pink (red/pink is usually used for mic so if your board supports it you change it to sub/center if it doesnt the you need a sound card)

Your motherboard (or the ones you're looking at) aren't for 5.1. The blue and pink are mic input and.line input. Unless the Mobo lets you reassign them, it won't work. Mobos with 5.1 or 7.1 have 6 output jacks, Green is front L/R, I forget exactly what colors the others are, but surround L/R (black), rear L/R (Gray), and center/Sub (orange.)
