Does anyone know why some PS2 discs have blue tint on the back instead of a clear, silver ones? It made quite a noise than an average game disc. I remember LEGO star wars TVG has it

To add unto the answer above, CD spin at a higher speed than DVD's, which is why they were likely generally louder.

Any PS2 disc that was that purpleish-blue is a CD-ROM. All Japanese launch titles and most of the North American launch titles were on CDs, while a decent number of European launch titles and almost every game thereafter were on DVD-ROMs.

PS2 CDs spin quite a bit faster than the DVDs out of necessity, really. This is most noticeable in any game that either plays an FMV or streams audio while in-game.

Kinda off-topic but kinda relevant, too; the PS2 doesn't really like dual-layer DVD-ROM games, especially Gran Turismo 4.
