B450 Motherboard

MSI B450 Tomahawk vs Asrock B450 Steel Legend vs Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite vs Asus B450 Strix

Which one out of these motherboards has better VRMS? Don't suggest anything else only these are available in my place. Oh and the Gigabyte is at $100 while the rest are at $130+ in my place

What CPU are you going to use? Ryzen 3000 is likely to need a bios update on them

Would maybe just get the Strix, the gigabyte board doesn't really have a great VRM despite the looks.

The Strix has minor upgrades elsewhere like the onboard audio and intel networking

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Is Tomahawk MAX available? Or even MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX? BC MAX designated boards come with ryzen3000 ready bios-and they probably will have better CPU support for 4th gen as well.

The Steel Legend is imho poor value (the microATX one is fine from performance per dollar point of view). The GB and ASUS are overpriced. I'd stick with MSI

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

Same question for me. Seeing my MOBO on garbo tier makes me sad.
Is ASUS PRIME B450M-A is not good for 3rd Gen Ryzen?

I'd suggest trying undervolting the cpu, just to be sure.

Or the usual: get something from MSI. : )

I never tried undervolting. Currently using 2400G but I want to swith to 3600. Maybe I'll try it first. Before getting into "the usual". Haha

no need, just keep an eye on vrm temps, vrm under 100C is fine, just no crazy overclocks

I'll take note on that. And I think I don't need to overclock 3600 for now.

r5 3600 sips power, you shouldnt run into any issues as long as you dont do ay heavy overclocks.

also any aircooler helps VRM cooling a lot.

Should I go for aftermarket cooler? Or should I go for better thermal paste

consider your b450ma have no vrm heatsink, you may want some direct downward airflow instead of a tower cooler

Well thank you for pointing that but I have 2 front intake, and 2 top / 1 rear exhaust. Is it okay since my room is air-condition?

@Tenma White Dude I'm sorry for hijacking this post. Hope you get your mobo soon. Goodluck

Its okay bro. Anyways quick update guys the CPU i will use is Ryzen 5 3600 and the store in my place ran out of ATX mobos the only ones left are B450 i Aorus Pro Wifi $120 and x570i aorus pro wifi $240

Would the B450 i be alright for the 3600? I saw on a mobo tier list that for some reason B450 i aorus pro has better VRM than the mobos I mentioned in the original post above. The x570 has 8 phase and 70Amps each something something while the B450 i has 4+2 phase and 50amps each. I don't really plan on overclocking heavily and stuff maybe just light overclocking.

thats one of the best mini itx b450,

justt a smaller board ,looks silly in a big case, denser / complected cable management, nothing wrong

you may want to pick and match other parts as well

Yeah apparently its one of the best B450 ITX boards there's also the B450 i Strix but it costs $55 more in my place. Anyways do you think it is okay if I pair it with the Ryzen 5 3600 with light overclocking? I'm also getting a NZXT H210 as my case. I'm also planning to buy an AIO but was thinking to stay with stock cooler or buy a low profile cooler instead so it can also cool the motherboard VRMs.

The PSU is at the bottom so its bigger than the usual ITX case and I don't really have plans on getting a new GPU for at least another year. My 1060 is still good.
