Apple Pencil or other for Making tutorial videos?

cloneman

So I was thinking about starting a video tutorial channel where I use OBS to have my head floating around (like a gamestreamer) but rest of the screen is pen input.

I'm wondering what the best ways are of doing this, followed by the most cost effective way. Brainstorming:

-  OBS would need to "capture" the iPad screen as HDMI input device. This means I need a HDMI Capture Card & an iPad. unless there is a more cost effective way of low latency mirroring with iPad + Windows PC.

Samsung tablet with s-pen?
other ideas?

- Overhead camera pointed at iPad (more ghetto)

iPad pro + pencil is pretty expensive for this purpose

I don't like the wacom idea because then I'm not writing on the screen directly, it's just a more fancy mouse.

Wacom makes more product than just tablets, they also make screens: Cintiq.

The Cintiq 16 for example is kind of like their tablets, but with a screen inside. You simply connect this to your PC, it's another monitor and you can draw on it.

The surface on the Cintiq is different, as the iPad or Samsung will have a more glossy screen in comparison.

samsung A8 8inch tab with spen, it would be the cheapest.

then you can capture the video with a screen recorder app.
