Make a powered long distance wifi adapter

I basically want to do what the title says. I would like to build a long distance powered WiFi antennae for use on my own property as to not violate and laws and I would like it to be unidirectional as much as possible. What are your thoughts on buildings this, how would I go about amplifying the signal?

You can't really increase range of wifi and keep it omni directional as laws limit max power, and most wifi stuff is already near the max power.

 

If you want long range point to point, there are lots of products made for that, like the ubiquity airfiber, and mikrotik wireless wire.

Ubiquiti makes equipment for setting up point-to-point wireless connections using dishes. This could allow you to connect your house to a separate structure on your property without running a cable.
