Hey all, trying to pick a new GPU.  Leaning towards 2060 super.

I've read that Gigabyte has been having overheating issues so I'm looking at Asus and MSI. Anyone have any insight as to which version from either of those manufacturers is better?

400-450 budget. 1080p 144hz gaming. As future proof as possible at this price range.

Any and all advice is appreciated, thanks!

Edit: What about this card: EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 Super XC Ultra?

RX 5700/XT, has the 2070's performance at the same price  basically.

blower cards go on sale for under $300 sometimes, otherwise it's $360 for non XT, and $409 for XT aftermarket coolers.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Yeah I've checked a lot of the benchmarks and I believe the 5700XT is a better value. I'm just worried about the heat and driver issues I've read about concerning that card..

It has the same power draw as equivalent nvidia cards

and there's nothing wrong with the drivers, mine works fine

ReLive wasn't working for a while, but that may have been windows 10 as windows 7 had no issues with the same drivers.

Fair enough, do you recommend any particular brand/version?

GN just did a whole round up, basically any of the dual fan cards are fine, just get whatever is cheapest, but that isn't MSI preferably in case their thermal pads are still messed up and only covering half the memory modules.

The blower card can be improved, but it's really only there for water cooling or it's $289 sale price.

I would argue the Sapphire Pulse and the Power Color Red Dragon are your best value variants.

The Gigabyte version is also apparently really good.

If you really want to push the card, go for the Red Devil or Nitro +.

If you want to be like me and just go for the gold, I went with the Strix and I am more than happy with it, but you are paying the ASUS tax for it.
