  1. Plan is to return it. Its loud. Hard to imagine anyone being okay with their computer screaming while they play games.
  2. Amazon says "return eligible through May 31, 2020" Not sure why they give me 2 months but I'll take it.
  3. I've had the Gigabyte 2070s windforce oc since the 3/23. Today I quit back to main menu on tomb raider and realized the card was whining really bad. Loud obnoxious and it fluctuated as I navigated the menu. Tried it in Doom Eternal and again major whine in the menu. This wasn't happening before today. I also checked CSGO which actually had no noticeable whine. What would cause this to start so suddenly? I've played all of these games several times since getting the card.. Should I try to troubleshoot or just return it to Amazon? Other specs: x570 aorus elite, 3600, 2x8
  4. PSA: If your using DisplayPort and your monitor stops working or behaving oddly unplug it for a minute and plug it back in. It fixed my issue when nothing else would.
  5. Win10, x570 aorus elite, 3600, 2070 super, 2x8 gb, 650 watt psu During scan went to black never came back. Rebooted, disconnected display, pulled battery from mobo, still black screen. After pulling the battery it seemed like it might come back, gpu fans started spinning but still no signal. Not sure what to do. Most of the system is brand new, gpu just got here 4 days ago. The psu is 5 years old tho.
  6. Using the @bios utility to update BIOS. Choosing "Update from file" and I've downloaded the latest BIOS for my x570 aorus elite. When selecting the file is: X570AE.12f the correct one to choose? The only other options are: efiflash(application) autoexec(windows batch file) readme(text document) It seems obvious but I just wanted to confirm.
  7. I'm sure you're right just that doubt that sneaks in after spending $500 on a GPU.
  8. I bought a 2070 Super card (GV-N207SWF3OC-8GD) and I've been wondering if I should've spent more for a higher core clock. How much of a difference does 30 mhz make? Or maybe I should've just gone with a 5700xt.. Second guessing myself and I purchased recently from Amazon so I can easily return at no cost. Any insight is appreciated.
  9. Interestingly I just got home with my new DisplayPort cable and hooked it up. Restarted the PC and no blue screen. Maybe something about the HDMI cable was causing the issue. Will test a bit more to be sure.
  10. When I installed the new GPU's drivers it said it was removing the old driver along the bottom of the installation screen so I assume it at least tried to get rid of the old drivers before installing the new ones. That being said I suppose I should try DDU. Reading the instructions for DDU on the guru3d page was a bit intimidating so I was hoping to avoid it.
  11. Went from gtx 970 to the rtx 2070 super. User benchmark shows the card working very well but every time I start or restart the pc I get a short 1-3 second blue screen. No error messages. Then it goes to the mobo boot screen and starts normally. Using hdmi because I forgot to buy a displayport cable but I'm going to do that this morning. Only other symptom I noticed is some hesitation on startup where it revs up then slows down before revving back up. I did notice things looking a bit "soft" in game but I'm not sure if that's being cause by the hdmi not supporting 144hz, which I'm used too. I d
  12. I haven't seen much concrete on the subject. Some say they are better but others are currently (as in this week) still have blue screens, black screens and other issues. If you sort reviews on the most popular buying sites by "most recent" people are still complaining and returning cards because they aren't able to get them running properly. It certainly seems to be less common though so I do think they have improved things quite a bit since release.
  13. I'm in the same boat choosing between those cards. Personally looking at the Nitro+ and Gigabytes windforce card. Its a $40 difference on Amazon. Yesterday I ordered the 2070s basically out of fear of the driver issues on the 5700xt. I also have been running a Gigabyte windforce GTX 970 since 2014 ish and I still game on it to this day with zero issues so I figured I might as well go with what I know. From my research it seems that if you get the Red Devil or Nitro+ you should be good to go, similar performance with a cheaper price tag and they run cool/quiet. The only
  14. Yeah I got this 128 on sale for 12.99 minus a $5 coupon it came out to 7.99 for 128GB. Didn't even consider that it would be an issue formatting it when I bought it. I don't have access to Linux.
  15. I have a 128 gb flash drive that I'd like to format to FAT32. Its currently exFAT. Windows 10 only offers exFAT and NTFS as formatting options. I've seen some various programs that claim to do this but I hesitate to download software unless I'm positive its safe. I need FAT32 for a mobo BIOS update.
