Are a couple of slightly bent pins gunna be an issue?

AS long as the pins didn't physically break you, you are fine.

I was building a computer yesterday and idiotically handed the naked cpu to my inexperienced friend, and he very slightly bent 3 pins on the outside of the chips. The ryzen 3400g did not go into the socket properly (it stuck a little on one side) but with a little fiddle and force it went in. I pulled it in and out a few more times just to make sure it didn’t break and to kinda bend the pins back with the socket.  Anyway it booted and I got an os loaded tested the temps were all good.

So my question is, is this going to cause issues at some point even though it booted? Are there any tests that I should run to confirm the chip is operating properly? Is my anxiety warranted?

No problems.

Now those pins are slightly weaker than the other ones, so I wouldn't make it a habit of pulling the CPU out and putting it back in the mobo. But beyond that you are a-ok.

I've dropped a ryzen cpu before and bent like 20 pins. I was able to bend all the pins back with paper clips, tweezers, and a credit card. I got them straightened out and the CPU worked fine then. The best trick I learned was placing a credit card in the line of pins and kind of pushing gently against the pins to get everything lined up again.

That CC is a good idea if you end up bending pins, stealing this idea just incase.

I had accidentally bent a couple of pins (maybe even 3 or 4) on my Z87 mobo some years back when I was building my i7 4770K rig, I gotta admit I was pretty careless due to overconfidence. Took a long nose tweezer and straigthened the bent pins and installed the CPU, no problemo. It's still running great as my multimedia HTPC rig.....
