No overclocking on motherboard

Hi, I have been having problems with my CPU recently and i think i know why. We had an old ASUS OEM lying around so i decided to build a pc so i bought the best CPU for my motherboard the Xeon x3480 and my motherboard is the  V P7H55E. I didnt want to overclock so i didnt look into it but now i went into my BIOS and i cant overclock or turn of the setting that has been giving me performance issues. The setting is "Ratio CMOS Setting" and i cant turn off can anyone help me.

Most Xeons cannot be overclocked. I'm not seeing any information saying the X3480 is one that can.

 

What you can do is reset CMOS. If the setting was one that you changed in the past resetting CMOS should set it to default (off - hopefully).

you have to do it through raising the Front Side Bus, not the multiplier.
