So i picked up a gt 1030 about 3 months ago for 50$, used and all worked fine. Right now i was on google, looking for stuff for a school project and my screen just turned off. I was like wtf. My pc was on just no display. I restart pc and no display. I plug out and back in the gpu, nothing, reset cmos nothing, i go to integrated gpu, display works fine and right now i tested a hd6450 to make sure my pcie slot sidnt die and it displays fine... My gpu worked fine these past 3 months, didnt overclock it, only undervolt it a bit due to it heating up a lot since its a passive model. Everything worked fine until now. Is there anything i can try as im lowkey worried and i dont have any money atm

You did manage to remove the undervolt right? That could easily be the issue.

Desktop:

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 @3.75* RAM: 2 by 8gb G.Skill Flare X 2400 @2666* GPU Strix GTX 1070 @1880-ish

Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 500gb; 2x 2tb Seagate Barracuda Drives; 1tb hdd (It died after 4 years :();

Laptop: (HP Stream 11-y010nr "Spent all my money on my Desktop" Edition)

CPU: Intel Celeron N3060 @160 BILLION hertz RAM: 400 BILLION bytes Samsung DDR3L @160 BILLION hertz

GPUIntel HIGH DEFINITION Graphics @32 BILLION hertz

Storage: 32 TRILLION bytes of SOLID STATE emmc C drive with 64 TRILLION bytes of SOLID STATE microSD card D drive.

*Overclocked around 25% of the time... questionably stable.

Yea all worked fine. I just tried plugging it into the tv directly to see if my adapter died cause my monitor doesnt have hdmi  and nothing

Edit

Oh and i only undervolted the high frequency dots, the low frequencies are on stock voltage and i was just on google, so it wasnt my undervolt being unstable as i had it for well over 2 months

don't take that for a given tough, my TV won't recognise my perfectly working PC either for some reason.

as @Linker mentioned the undervolt might have been the issue. did you undervolt it directly through some BIOS mod or just in something like MSI afterburner?

to remove the undervolt, use your integrated graphics and uninstall afterburner.

Did you try connecting the GPU to another computer? See if it behaves any differently?

I dont have another computer so cant do that one, but seeing from the fact that the old hd6450 works fine confirms that its not a problem eith pc

It's not impossible for the issue to still be software related. Especially since you're using two different brand cards which use different drivers. Though this is a little bit of a stretch.

If all else fails. I think it's worth a 5~10 minute test to see if it does anything booting into another OS. Ubuntu or Mint would be quick/easy.

Does it do anything at all for you when you're POSTing in the BIOS? Or is it just dead all the way?

Nope, nothing, like its not even there, dead all the way. I just tried plugging the display to igpu and the gpu on side and it just says basic display drivers and not the gt1030 in device manager...

Perhaps it is dead.

If you scroll down in Device Manager does it show up as an unrecognized device?

I'm not certain with NVIDIA cards but AMD cards (post-Radeon HD series) won't show up properly unless a display is connected. Wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Assuming that you already have, but it never hurts to ask. Have you attempted to try a different display output from the card? Could just be the port.

Theres just hdmi and dvi but i dont have the dvi converter, or even the cable in general

Computer hardware can be iffy like that. It doesn't necessarily have to be under stress for it to commit seppuku. If you use Google Chrome, Chrome does use GPU Acceleration (enabled by default) to speed things up. Mind you it's not as stressful as a game but it uses the GPU more than idling at the desktop.
