Then you don't need to bother with the cable you are holding in the picture, or the slots shown in that same picture.
An M.2 SSD uses the M.2 slot on your motherboard, typically above or below your top PCIE slot (where your GPU might slot in).
The cable and ports you showed are for Non-M.2 SSD's, HDD's and optical drives.
