So in history we are learning about Dictators/Fascists/Tyrant and as part of pieces of homework, the question is "How do we protect ourselves from Dictators/Tyrants and Fascists?" She wanted specific points and I can't seem to think about anything nor can I find anything on google. So I was wondering if the glorious LTT forum can help me? It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced! <3333

Edit: Also not only to protect ourselves from Dictators etc. But also how to prevent it!

Shoot them, plain and simple. :P

...

Be proactive and know what your govt. is doing?

ooo sounds good thanks!

Everyone should try to be open-minded so that not only one opinion matters? I really don't know how... I'm trying. :D

No no! That is awesome keep them coming that is great :D but I'm confused on how the protects or prevents against a dictator/fascist or tyrant? Please elaborate :)

Typically government safeguards and limitations that should have no possibility of violation in exception of a coup would protect against that.

The government doesn't necessarily have to get it right, over time it will advance naturally as a process of usurp to the next X amount of times until something the people are moderately not pissed off at is installed.

People are an unruly mob, so expecting more of them than the average cow is a bad time

I do hope your teacher doesn't intend to use fascists/tyrants interchangeably

Well in the case of america, our governments system of checks and balance plus the necessary approval from multiple parties on any action taken really limits the presidents power. Now internationally, i'm really just leaning words military action as a form of deterrence and policing to keep the world straight. Now I don't think America should really be shoving its big head anywhere it feels like, but for the most part that is our big form of prevention.

I'll try to explain in my state of mind, which is bad atm. Basically, if people only accept an idea from like only one source, then people will start following the source and just follows what he does/wants. Uh... so I believe people need to stay open to every idea or get educated to prevent any kind of dictatorship from happening. B) B)

1. it there is a system in place that "should" prevent that.

2. keep youself informed and think critical, dont just eat what mainstream media feeds you.

thats all i would put in, but of course extend each point.

also take a look at the "Fairness Doctrine"

Regan axed that shit out

the press MUST be neutral and the people must be knowledgeable  about what is happening

ignorance spawns such leaders
