1080-Ti vs 5700XT (Maybe 5700XT + 570?)

Renzorex

Hi, I currently have a RX 570 and a Ryzen 3 1200.

I'm planning on getting a 3700X in November along with a new gpu. I would like to spend around £400-450 but could go up another couple hundred if it was worth it (on the gpu alone).

I think the 2070/2080 is overkill for me and not worth the money so I don't think I'll be getting one of them unless there is a really good argument for them.

I am between getting a RX 5700XT and a 1080-Ti. They both compare quite closely yet the 1080ti is cheaper, but the 5700XT is a lot more modern.

So what would you recommend? Also last question, if I went with the RX 5700XT, could I run the in crossfire with the RX 570 I currently have or would that be too buggy?

I will be using the system for gaming, watching videos/listening to music, general office-related tasks, programming and maybe some rendering but would be very rare so shouldn't affect decisions.

Thanks

both are great choices, just make sure you get a good card, or a custom cooler if you go reference

the pcb on reference is great, but the cooler is a bit underwhelming

Thanks for the reply.

What cards would you recommend for each? (UK)

If you are going to pay almost same money get the 5700xt as you will get warraty.

As for a 5700xt get one with 3 fans. Gigabyte one is cheap for what you get.

To your last question.
Pretty sure you can't crossfire an RX570 (Polaris) and an RX 5700XT (Navi). - Guys correct me if I'm wrong.

The 1080ti would be about £100 cheaper. Would you still recommend the 5700XT over it?

Okay. I was researching crossfire and I don't think it seems like a good fit anyways, I'll probably just stick to one card.

Amazon Marketplace is the wild west of "reputable" internet sellers... I personally wouldn't trust it, but YMMV.
