Rendering from my SSD takes longer than standard HDD

Hey guys,

I recently bought an external SSD for video editing purposes. It works great, file transfer speeds are much better than external HDD's and it's much more durable than my HDD. But for some reason when I am rendering a video file directly from my external SSD it takes much longer than to render it directly from my external HDD? Does anyone know what could be causing this issue? I tried few different computers and different export setting on Premiere Pro, but the issue remains the same.

from my experience ssds won't increase the render time by much anyway, at least not enough for it to be easily noticeable
