Hello guys,

I hope you are well, I ask for your kind support with this problem that I present.

I have an Asus CrossHair IV Formula motherboard and when I turn it on, the CPU does not recognize me, it stays with the LED on, the screen goes black, does not enter the BIOS and does not emit sound.

What has been done:
I have disconnected all the components of the board and cleaned it.
I have connected pins 8.
I have connected all the components correctly.
I have tried placing RAM in all memory banks.
I tried pressing the MenOK button.
I have tested with 2 750W power sources.
I clicked on the bios button.
I have replaced the motherboard battery.
I have tried disconnecting all the components.
I tried with another RAM and CPU, it gives the same error.
I have verified all the little coins on the board by removing the heatsinks (coils, transistors, etc.) everything looks good.
* I have reviewed and followed the motherboard manual.
* I've checked it out of the cabinet.

None of the above has worked for me. :(

I leave a images and a video.

I will greatly appreciate your kind support.
Thank you.

Where these parts all new?

Do you know what BIOS version was on the motherboard? According to the Asus website, you need an updated BIOS to support that CPU.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Thank you Radium_Angel for your kind response:)
I don't remember what BIOS version it is but I've had it run 6 years without problems.
I tried to update the BIOS but it doesn't let me since it doesn't give me video, I tried the ROG CONECT from another computer but it didn't work.

Ah.

So what changed, if anything, that caused it not to boot?

I did a regular cleaning maintenance (to remove the dust and that) after that, I turned it on to use it, I loaded the BIOS screen and after 2 minutes it froze, I restarted it and no longer wanted to pass the POST, it stays on the CPU LED.

I have not used it much and I always keep it clean and well ventilated.

I read in forums and videos and indicate that there is a short on the motherboard, there is a chip, transistor or resistance that is causing the problem, the strange thing is that I do not see anything out of the ordinary.

Thank you for your response and your time.

With a contact cleaner especially for electronics and air blower.
Do you think it's a problem with the electronic contact cleaner?
I always use it and it has not caused problems.

That was a very bad idea....

Only use compressed air, and gently at that.

I fear you toasted your board.

I think the same, I'm going to take it to an electronic technician for review, maybe it's just a chip that can be replaced.

Thanks for your answers.
