M.2 not recognized by the motherboard

Installed a Kingston A2000 M.2 drive in the M.2 slot in my motherboard (MSI B450 GAMING PLUS). In the BIOS system status it states "Not present" in the M2_1 slot. BIOS just got updated. The only other drive i have is a Samsung SSD in the SATA port 1 slot. Anybody have any tips on what to do?

Is your m.2 ssd firmly installed. Go into run, diskmgmt.msc and see if you can see the drive there

Yes, I'm confident that it is firmly installed. But no, it does not show in disk management.
