Hey!

So I am building my new PC and wanted to use cable extensions. However I am on a budget so I bought these
But when I looked at the pin shapes(?), the ones for the CPU do not match, but fit, also into the MB. I am sure that it is not a PCIe cable.

This is the cable coming from the PSU.

And this is the extension

The left 4pins are the same, however the rigth ones are different. The PSU cable has 4 rounded ones, and the extension cable has square ones in the top left and bottom right.

As I said, they all fit together. The extension cable also fits into the Motherboard. Now I am wondering, could I damage something, or is this on purpose.

PS.

My PSU is the beQuiet PurePower l8 630W

This is the female part of the extension cable.

If you're sure it's an EPS cable and not PCIe 8 pin, it doesn't matter what the shapes look like.
