Motherboard and RAM question

Vorok

Building a new PC for the first time in many years, and first time with AMD CPU. Got a very good deal on motherboard and RAM for next to nothing. Gigabyte X470 Aorus Gaming 5 WiFi and Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz 32GB (2x16) (CMW32GX4M2Z3200C16). Would there be any problems in pairing these with a Ryzen 7 3700X? Would there be much hazzle to get it all working?

No, all should be compatible without issue as long as the motherboard has received the bios update for the ryzen 3000 series processors.

If it hasnt, you'll need a 1st or 2nd gen ryzen processor to update the bios.

Cheers for the reply! Any idea on how to check if Gigabyte ships older mobos to vendors with an updated bios?

You'd have to ask the seller of the motherboard if the boards have the updated bios or not. Gigabyte puts stickers on the boxes of boards they have factory updated with Ryzen 3000 compatibility.

Worst case scenario you need to find someone with a processor you can borrow, go to a computer repair place that has the service, or just buy something like an athlon 200GE used for 30-40$ and do the bios update yourself.

Thanks! It came with an old bios, but fortunately a local computer store updated the bios for me for a mere 15 euros. Which is a lot cheaper than buying an equivalent X570 card ?
