Apple is not known for implementing the latest and greatest features in their phones. If you want those features you have to go Android.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

yea i know that....

it just feels like there is a disconnect in the different product teams and they dont co-ordinate between each other.

the watch team is doing awesome but their phones are kinda just meh.

Personally I switched from Android to iPhone and I personally love it. Android is too fragmented. Plus it seems like Samsung makes the “best devices” but I don’t like the quality of their phones.

They're still on Lightning instead of USB-C too, Apple just does what Apple does. I still prefer iOS though so I stick with iPhones, they may not do the stuff Androids can do, but they do what I want them to and they work perfectly with my other Apple stuff.

Noice, I almost got an Android back when I was phone shopping (Was an iPhone X vs the Samsung flagship or a OnePlus at the time), but iOS just had little things I like. I'm extremely picky about my keyboard, none of the ones I've used on any Android felt good to me, and iOS does the settings layout, control panel/notifications panel separation, and some other stuff just the way I like it. iCloud integration is excellent as well, I use a Mac at work so always having all my passwords and everything synced over all the time is really nice. iOS just works better for how I use my phone.

Probably just technical limitations.

Variable refresh rate makes sense on the iPad Pro because it's already expensive, will stick to LCD for the foreseeable future (where it's easier to implement) and has a huge battery.  On the Apple Watch, you're dealing with a small screen where going beyond 60Hz isn't needed, and where the cost of a variable-rate OLED won't be all that high.

Have you noticed that variable rate OLED phones are very hard to come by in general?  OnePlus and Razer phones have fixed rates, as I recall, and it doesn't get easier to find variable-rate phones after that.  You may just have to wait for the technology to catch up.

im talking about variable in general. not nessesary above 60.

the series 5 goes down to 1hz to save battery. why isnt that done on iphones? that could be a huge marketing thing for improving battery

Because the screen turns off and that saves even more power than going to 1Hz. If you have your phone screen on, chances are you're doing something, and if you're doing something other than looking at static images, chances are you want a bit more than 1Hz.
