Best Laptop?

I was wondering what the best laptop is for schools? With light gaming capabilities stuff like minecraft or csgo I have a budget of $1200 and would prefer it to be thin and light so I could carry it easily.

Light gaming capability I'd just stick with Intel's integrated.

The cheaper XPS models run them and it's perfect for lighter games.

Maybe an LG Gram?

blade stealth is always a good bet, otherwise an xps 13 with a dgpu

My rig: r7 1700 @ 3.9/1.35v, 16gb ddr4 3200, assorted rando SSDs, hx 1050, vega 64 1650/1025

Just grab a matebook D with an R5 2500U, will be plenty for light gaming.

Otherwise grab a more standard i5 8300h/9300h + 1050ti or 1650 machine, but it's not really going to be thin, those run from $600-700, and basically every laptop has some minor problem or another.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

First of all, dont buy a razer. They have reliability problems and it will particularly hurt you when it goes dead given your a student. Give the Zephyrus G a go. But otherwise a something with a gtx1650 will do.

If you use Lenovo's corporate buyer site (password's TXTATWORK), you can get a ThinkPad P43s for fairly cheap. $1149 with that link for an i7-8665U, 16 GB of soldered RAM (one free slot open), a Quadro P520 GPU, a 1440p display and a 512 GB SSD.

Alternatively, you can get the $831 model if you're willing to do upgrades yourself. That one has an i7-8565U, a Quadro P520, 8 GB of soldered RAM, a 256 GB SSD, and a 1080p display. The 1080p display isn't great but it's serviceable. I believe it's the same display as the one in my E480. For upgrades, you can get a 8 GB Corsair Vengeance for $39 on Amazon and get a 1 TB Samsung 970 Evo for $170. That brings your pre-tax total to about $1040.
