Well, the XFX XT in the review that Matsozetex linked was the same PSU as the s12/M12II. So you are talking about the same PSU as him...

No.  I thought he was talking about rev 1, but he meant rev 2.  Both were in the review and they have very different performance characteristics.

Hi guys, I am planning to upgrade my GPU from MSI GTX 1060 gaming x 6gb to Gigabyte RTX 2070 super Aorus. I saw in their website that the recommended PSU is 650w. I was wondering, do I need to upgrade my PSU also? Thanks guys.

The M12ii 620W is an old design, and not even a true 620W PSU, it's 576W on the 12V+.

Would be best and highly recommended to get a new PSU that is newer and current technology.

i9 9900K @ 5.0 GHz, NH D15, 32 GB DDR4 3200 GSKILL Trident Z RGB, AORUS Z390 MASTER, EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB, Samsung 860 EVO 1TB, Samsung 860 EVO 500GB, ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 27", Steel Series APEX PRO, Logitech Gaming Pro Mouse, CM Master Case 5, Corsair AXI 1600W Titanium.

i7 8086K, AORUS Z370 Gaming 5, 16GB GSKILL RJV DDR4 3200, EVGA 2080TI FTW3 Ultra, Samsung 970 EVO 250GB, (2)SAMSUNG 860 EVO 500 GB, Acer Predator XB1 XB271HU, Corsair HXI 850W.

i7 8700K, AORUS Z370 Ultra Gaming, 16GB DDR4 3000, EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 Ultra, Samsung 960 EVO 250GB, Corsair HX 850W.

I probably should have warned you that there is an active group of Seasonic M12II haters on this board. I have no idea how this started, but most of them just repeat the same three talking points over and over and have no idea whether its good or not. The M12II a very good budget PSU and very reliable.  Seasonics reputation for reliability is in no small part based on this units long term performance. It has anchored their low to mid range offerings for 15 years.

Yes the M12ii was a great PSU in it's day, built like a tank and very reliable compared to other PSU's back when they were new and current technology.

Not so much when compared to the newer up to date PSU's we have today however.

There are much better options out there these days.

While I wouldn't be running a 3600 and 2070 Super on it you're right, it's not a bad power supply.
