pc showing blue screen while loading windows 10

hey everyone! i'm new to this forum, but i've watched the channel on yt for a while now, and i've run into a problem that maybe you guys can help me out with.

i'm running a 5 year old pc with an AMD FX8350, a gtx 1050 and a gigabyte 970a-ds3p mobo. the OS is installed on an SSD made by crucial, games and files are on a 7200rpm sata HDD. the last couple of days, when i try booting my system, it will show all the usual screens, but when loading into windows i will get a blank blue screen, no text or cursor showing, and after about 20 or 30 seconds the pc will reboot and load into windows just fine. i built the pc myself, and it has been working fine until a couple of days ago,but i work on a dairy farm, so my knowledge about pc's is very limited indeed. a friend of mine who knows more than i do said that it might be my cpu overheating, but i doubt that can happen so fast, and when it does load in i get temps around 40-45 degrees celcius. my power supply will need an upgrade (it is currently only 450 watts), but again, when it does load into windows it runs very stable and it won't shutdown unless i tell it to. i'm really curious if this sounds familiar to anyone, and if so, how was this issue fixed? i have advanced system care and driver booster, so my drivers should all be up to date, and i have a legitimate version of windows 10 professional.

I really hope someone can help me out here, because i'm worried that it may be a symptom of something worse going on. thanks in advance!

is your cpu overclocked? if it is, dial back or remove the OC to default clock speeds

it's not, i'm running her at 4.0ghz which is enough for me atm. i knew i was pushing my psu to the limit when i installed the cpu, but it has been running very well since june this year. the problems started a couple of days ago. i thought about the psu, but the strange thing is, it will start, reboot and then it loads into windows and there are no problems, even if i use the pc all day long.

The way you describe your psu sounds like it is a craptastic 450w, maybe replace it with a better psu. But on the other hand, it still works after it restarts automatically... sounds like a windows issue, consider also reinstalling windows...

it's a corsair, and it's been very good to me in those 5 years i've had this pc, so i don't wanna say it's craptastic, but it is underpowered. however, if it had too little power, i should have started having problems right after installing my 8350. i may reinstall windows, but i did so recently because i had a problem where some file required to boot was damaged...

UPDATE! it seems it wasn't a windows related issue, instead it was human error! i have made a very dumb mistake, but just so you guys get a good laugh, i'll tell you what i did. couple of days ago, i installed a game. it told me it required a file called: msvcr71.dll. instead of throwing it in the game folder, i went ahead and threw it into my system32 folder. this was the last change i made, so when retracing my steps i figured i may try moving it to my desktop to see what would happen. i shut her down, let her rest for 30 seconds, and then i booted her again. within a couple of seconds she was done! serves me right for being stupid and doing things i have no knowledge of, but i'm really glad i got to learn something. i'll make sure to stay in the room when i boot my pc the next couple of days, if the problem returns i'll ask for advice once more, but i have good hopes that this was causing the issue. i imagine it was just trying to do it's job, it read the file and then the wrong information in said .dll file must have conflicted somewhere. thanks for the replies,i really appreciate it and i will be more careful in the future!

Another update: my rig has decided to be bad once more, and it’s doing things i can’t explain... yesterday it showed me a black screen with white text, saying that windows can’t be loaded. I tried again this morning with the recovery dvd in the drive, and it started up without hickups. When i try to fix the problems using that disc however, it tells me it’s not possible.  Not the boot related issues, not a fresh install of windows. At this point i feel like i can only leave the pc running, which it still does perfectly. I have not made any changes except installing driver booster and advanced system care.

Last Update: after sweating for a few days, not knowing what could be the issue, i decided to run through everything. i was thinking it had to be software related, but i checked all the hardware. then it hit me:what did i connect before the problems started? and the answer was: one stupid, cheap chinese charger. after removing it from a USB port i rebooted, and there ya go, it is like a brand new pc. apparently the usb connector caused a conflict with a required file to boot the pc, causing it to think it was missing. either way, i've solved it. i wanna thank everyone for commenting, and i hope someone with the same problem will find this thread useful. thanks again
