socket and processor doubt!!!!!!

Hey Guys,

       What would happen if we connect the processor to the motherboard with wires like soldering each wire to the contact pads and then connecting them to the socket pins.

I think it would work, but good luck soldering and where would you put all the cables, and what about cooling?

Good luck soldering 1000+ wires and not having any overlap/crossconnect!

In theory is would work, but you need proper contact on all pins, which is why a CPU socket is designed as it is.

 

EDIT: oh yeah... and properly mounting a cooler would be difficult too

it might work, but i suspect memmory issues and if its PCIe 4.0 it will have signal integrety issues. 

 

and in general it will be a mess to boot.

It would work yes. but why. why would u spend ur time to solder a bunch of cables froma socket to cpu when you can just put the cpu IN the socket. And as everyone else said, cooling is gonna be hard to fix
