The MAX has more storage capacity for many future BIOS updates and also already comes "ready" for Zen 2.

I looked at the specs and they look exactly the same. Only thing is, the normal version is out of stock but im wondering if there's any major difference?

 

Btw I'm using it with a 2200g and then upgrading to 3700x. Also using 3200mhz ram BC 3600 is too expensive and has diminishing returns.

The regular Tomahawks BIOS chip is too small for the graphical BIOS and OC profiles as well as all the Zen 2 firmwares. Get the max if you can.
