Okey, I know there are a lot of different opinions on what memory to use and what timings etc etc, I first had the G.Skill 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL14 Trident Z Neo in mind but since they have been delayed a lot with the stock im not sure if I want to wait anymore, so now I'm thinking of going with G.Skill 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL16 Trident Z Neo C

Is the trade for more memory and higher timings worth it or should I just hold tight and go for the 3600mhz cl14 ones ?

Or do anyone have a opinions on a totally different ram?

I plan on using the ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO X570 motherboard for the build.

Best Regards,

Kenta

What do you plan on doing the most with this computer? Like what is your workload going to be and what is your primary software?

to give the most standard answer "im going to game on it" but it's mostly true, sure I have always wanted to stream and so on and I plan on doing that but the primary would just be normal use and gaming, the reason I'm going with the 3900x and looked at that ram is because I want this to be a "final" upgrade for a while.

I see, well for a gaming rig you don't have to stress too much about memory.

This great video shows us that frequency isn't as important as one might think, in fact managing super tight low timings is more beneficial.

That said you could look for a solid 3200mhz or 3400mhz kit and focus on getting as low timings as possible from it.

The 3900X for just gaming is not really necessary, it barely shows any gaming performance advantage from the 3700X and you could always just stream through NVENC if you have a RTX card.

Okey and you don't think the trade for 32gb is worth going with CL 16 3600mhz over even lower mhz and CL 14 timings? like 3200-3400mhz and cl14?
