What is still stuck in the board is basically just a piece of plastic, so as long as the pins on the cable are not bent/touching each other it will be fine to plug back in.

But that's of course really say if nothing is broken on the cable, which i can't quite see in the picture.

Common problem for these USB3.0 sockets... someone somewhere messed up the standards (the others seem fine, but USB3.0 must have gone too far on the cheap or size went wrong).

Replace the cable if possible. Otherwise, carefully wesleve the plastic back on the pins. But *make sure it's the correct way around*. I don't know how to do that if it's stripped off. Probably best starting by removing the plastic from the socket.

that might need some soldering on the underside of the motherboard o_o the pins can probably be put back into position, but judging by how cleanly the pins are extracted in the first picture....

Ah. Had not noticed if the pins from the cable are out, or the pins from the socket? If the plastic plug is removed, can check if the socket pins are there... hopefully they are.

I have this issue all the time. It frustrates me to no end. I ended up inserting the pins back into the broken connector piece. You just have to make sure you face it it the right way.
